From the moment I first stepped into the print room at college, I knew printmaking was for me. I loved the giant printing press, the inky rags, the brayers, the stack of ink tins, and the drying rack filled with the efforts of the apron clad students.

Whether it's a drypoint, monotype, lino or etch, I have always been drawn to printmaking. I love the happenstance and unpredictability of the outcome, and I never tire of how the application of ink and wiping the same plate can change the look and feel of an image.

Often beginning with one of my painted works, I enjoy reinterpreting the same image through a range of printmaking techniques. More recently, I have discovered the immediacy and satisfaction of gel plate printing, which has inspired me to experiment with collage. This has opened up new possibilities for combining my prints with my paintings, creating layered, mixed-media compositions that reflect my ongoing exploration of process and expression.
