This experimental cyanotype series has been shaped by intention, chemical reaction and chance.

The light sensitive chemicals have been disrupted with accessible household materials such as lemon juice, salt and baking powder.  Working on watercolour paper, the substances are laid down wet and set outdoors in the sun. The cyanotype chemicals along with the household materials react in different ways, creating unexpected textures and patterns.

The cyanotype originals will continue to evolve and change colour, so at a carefully chosen point in the develoment process the images are scanned to capture the beautiful variations of copper, ochre, teal and violet.

Each limited edition giclée print is not a reproduction of a completed original work, but rather the preservation of a particular stage in the life of an evolving original.
