In my latest body of work, I weave together painting, printmaking, digital drawing, and collage to build layered surfaces of colour and texture, forming a contemporary exploration of portraiture. I build surfaces that feel excavated rather than painted. Layers are applied, obscured, sanded back and reworked allowing fragments of text, texture and colour to surface like emotional residue. The process becomes a conversation between abstraction and emotion, between the sitter’s gaze and my own reflections on memory, vulnerability, and strength.

Even if the faces are unknown, I hope each viewer finds a spark of recognition, curiosity, and connection as we collectively question self image and our place in today’s world.
